March Madness Bracket Announcement

Every single year I do a March Madness song bracket, and this year is no exception. I won’t even make you wait to hear what it is. We’re doing Taylor Swift. Which, if you follow me on twitter, you know already. It seems only fitting to celebrate her right now. Two albums and the drop of Love Story again? Taylor is back on top, not that she ever fucking left.

But, this bitch has so many fucking songs, and so many good songs that picking a top 64 and seeding 64 songs is going to be the bane of my existence. I genuinly don’t know how I’m going to do it. Taylor has 55 album singles alone. 55 SINGLES. That’s fucking crazy. Her career has gone on for so long and stayed so good, it’s going to be near impossible to narrow it all down. On top of all of this, I think I have very different TS opinions than the rest of the general public. I don’t love her early music, Red and Speak Now are really where I live my best life, but I’m going to try really hard to keep my own opinions out of it to truly pick 64 of the best well rounded and well liked songs. It is in fact my due diligence to provide the ultimate bracket experience.

So when is all this shit going down? I’m going to do this bracket the same way I did last year and follow the actual March Madness dates. This gives me time to pull together the new bracket, and everyone enough time to actually vote. We’ll be doing a Google Doc voting system, so that it’s a bit more a surprise than Instagram or Twitter polls.

The Schedule:

  • Selection Sunday (aka the announcement of the bracket) — March 14
  • First round — Friday, March 19
  • Second round — Sunday, March 21
  • Sweet 16 — Saturday, March 27
  • Elite Eight — Monday, March 29
  • Final Four — Saturday, April 3
  • NCAA championship game — Monday, April 5
  • Winner announced — Wednesday, April 7

So tune in and make sure you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, or subscribe to my blog to get each round (and all my other daily blogs) sent straight to your email!
